today, a sweet teabag girl. i used acrylic,
collage, charcoal pencil and hand made papers.
every year i talk about oshogatsu feast, the
japanese new year day celebration.
my friend hosts friends and family
and i am the sous chef. we stand next to each other
for hours and hours chopping, cooking, preparing,
presenting the dishes for guests. many of you
may not be familiar or have ever seen the foods
we eat on this auspicious day so i wanted to show you here.

i have not missed one oshogatsu in my life! whereever i was in the world,
i came home to be with my family. when i had my own family
and my parents were older, i carried on the tradition.
now my son, carries on, creating a small feast in chicago.
do you carry on family traditions? i would love to hear of them.
thank you for visiting me at my blog today.
i appreciate your visit and any comments.
today's post is linked, as is every friday with
friends at paint party friday, hosted by eva and kristen.
