day 9
29 paintings
i made a promise that i would paint each day.
regardless of what life presents. yesterday was a full day of workshop with seth apter
and then a birthday celebration afterwards. i don't know about you, but i am spent after
a full day of painting and yakking with friends. that is a fatigue in a good way.
so this morning before i run off to another day of the same, i hunted in my closet
and then a birthday celebration afterwards. i don't know about you, but i am spent after

so this morning before i run off to another day of the same, i hunted in my closet
of lost paintings and found this metallic painted board. i gessoed over it
but you can still see there is a flower and some thick black acrylic
i squeezed from a needle tip bottle. i never liked it.
the strong lines actually lent itself to this painting of the craggy
faced zen monk poet ikkyu who i mentioned in an earlier post.

amazing Irene!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a versatile artist! I really like the "oil-fingerpainting" portrait and the face collage. The expressions on the faces speak volumes.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sheila! I appreciate your thoughtful comments.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you 'go for it', Irene. Looking forward to hearing how the workshop turned out too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great repurpose, really enjoy seeing your work.
