life is full!
the art i have created daily can be seen on
instagram. this a collaged and painted teabag.
an acrylic abstract painted on a page of a large book.
rust dyed papers done in a
weekend workshop with orly avineri.
atcs for my international group.
the them was to use a minimal number
of papers within less than 10 minutes.
i started with papers which were painted already.
and i hosted a birthday party for a
dear dear friend. i broke my own boundary by singing
'you're the tops.'... and i cannot sing!
this week i tried using extra large images.
what do you think? too big?
it rained in southern california! yay! it has been a
very long time since i head the sound of water on my rooftop.
it was like music to my ears.
last night the rain spoke to me
by mary oliver
last night
the rain
spoke to me
slowly, saying,
what joy
to come falling
out of the brisk cloud,
to be happy again
in a new way
on the earth!
that's what it said
as it dropped,
smelling of iron,
and vanished
like a dream of the ocean
into the branches
and the grass below.
then it was over.
the sky cleared.
i was standing
under a tree
the tree was a tree
with happy leaves,
and i was myself,
and there were stars in the sky
that were also themselves
at the moment
at which moment
my right hand
was holding my left hand
which was holding the tree
which was filled with stars
and the soft rain-
imagine! imagine!
the long and wondrous journeys
still to be ours.

I Love Mary Oliver...
ReplyDeleteWonderful treasures, Irene!
ReplyDeleteLove every inch of your art and the sweet poem of Mary Oliver.
Happy festive season to you ❤❤
Your paintings are beautiful. The pictures are great at this size, I don't see well and this is great for me. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteEither size is just fine with me. One can click on it if it is smaller to enlarge it but one does not have to with the larger size. You amaze me with all that you can accomplish in one week. I want to hear you sing! Loved the poem about rain, too! Hugs! :-)
ReplyDeletefabulous art projects Irene! Love that beautiful washi paper. Your diner party setting is gorgeous and I know everyone enjoyed it immensely. Happy PPF!

You always have such a great variety of beautiful interesting work Irene!! I love the photos big...it frustrates me when they're so small and you can't click them even larger if you choose!! Love the set table wow...very impressive!! Thanks for sharing...I live on the outskirts of the Rainy city...and I still love rain.. So does my family. We have snow right now and a snow storm coming... love the beauty of that too!

Love those ATC's! Don't tell me you did all of them in less than 10 minutes!? Wow! that tiny spot of red in your abstract adds so much. I don't think your images are too big at all. It always frustrates me when the images are so tiny it's hard to see any detail. Thanks for the beautiful poem by Mary Oliver.
ReplyDeleteWonderful works of art!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to see what else went on those plates of black and gold. Beautiful. I am sure your friends was impressed and honored.
Great art! And I love the birthday table. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and very inspirational art Irene. I would have loved to hear you sing. :) Ohhh I know you need rain there but I hear rain almost everyday and am so tired of it. LOL In fact it is raining right now. Have a very nice Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLots of wonderful art today. Painting on the tea bag is a cool idea. And wow- you have lots of floor space to have such a big table set up. I bet it was a great party! :) Erika
