29 Faces Art Challenge, Day 3

mixed media on a journal page

 'chanto'

ちゃんと
adv. properly, well; correctly; fittingly; justly

i heard this japanese word a lot as a child.

i took it to mean that whatever way i was doing 'it',

it wasn't proper enough.

it is  one of the reasons i gravitate toward mixed media work.

there is no proper way.

whatever you do is the right, proper, correct, fitting or just.

now, how's that for fun?

  7. Wild, Irene. Love it. I recall my home equivalent which began, 'You could just...' which was the chanto hint a suggestion for an 'improvement' would follow.
