with all of the teabag paintings and monthly
challenges, i have all but neglected painting
larger sized paintings. i found this piece
lying on a magazine. it did not feel finished
at this point
collage was added to the background,
acrylic paint to the dress, face and hair
and a little pastel added to her face.
i will call her done for now.
here are a few photos from the art studios at the
santa monica art walk held at the airport. i visited
once before and liked the light airy space and high
industrial ceilings.

thanks for sharing that vast and different collection of art-I couldn't pick a fave although I love the girl with the doodled face:)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I did love the girl with the doodled face too! She was really fun, as the face painting would show.

what a magical exhibition... and she looks perfectly finished now!
ReplyDeleteYes, the whole show has a fun air about it. It is at a small community airport in a hanger to start. Then the various artists are unique and inviting. I am glad you liked seeing the photos and the atmosphere came across.

It doesn't take much to change a piece of art into something very beautiful, just as you did with your piece here. I simply love the result. Thanks for all the beautiful photographs as well.

We don't have a large art community in Del Rio, so whenever I visit larger cities I try to catch an art exhibit. I love the one you visited. I also LOVE your portrait. It has the look of an antique piece. Blessings, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting, Arnoldo. Your comments are much appreciated. I am glad you enjoyed the photos of the show!
