Playn'

upcycled book, collage, pencil, colored pencil, pastel

i found a large used art book (12" x 14") for one dollar at the local library.

i was so excited...you can't even buy a cup of coffee for a dollar.

the pages were thick and creamy with simple black ink art

with spare poetry.  one part of me wanted to keep the book as is,

but the creative experimenter won because i so love playn'

in journals and  books.  once the page is finished, you can close it

until the next time you want to play.   no pressure.  just fun.

some days i have trick myself to not get too serious

because then art can becomes like a job and we can't have that.

here i used deli paper to add layers.    i painted the faces and then glued it

to the painted and collaged page.

posting today with paint party friday
