i am continuing to work in a series.  theses are

little timed sketches on 10 x 10 cradle boards.

also, i decided to cut this mixed media piece into two parts.

i thought it was finished but as it hung something seemed off.

i don't have plans for the the bottom section...yet.

 one thing at a time.

i was invited to  participate  this month in  a virtual blog tour

by katherine jeanne wood.  details to come.

have a lovely 4th.  i would love to hear what

you are creating. and as always, i

thank you for visiting today.

  9. Hi Irene,

What is cradle board? I love the sketches you've done. Does giving yourself a time limit help with the sketching process?

Isn't it funny how sometimes we look at a piece we've created and get the feeling that something is missing but we just aren't sure what it is. I hope you discover what it is for your piece. For me, it's beautiful as it is.

    Happy belated WOYWW

    1. Hello Whimsygirl, a cradle board , let's see how to describe. Well, picture a canvas only instead of canvas the whole piece is of wood. So there is the face of it which is a flat piece of board (the one i used here is 10 x 10") and there are 4 side pieces so when you hang it, it's like a little 3 sided box. I don't know whether that a clear explanation. I buy them art art stores.

  14. your little sketches are fantastic Irene! They look simple but when you do minimal work it's so much harder I think because every line or stroke of paint is equally important. Gorgeous collage art too!
